Working in the Dark consists of portrait, environmental, and reportage images made during the creation and operation of a haunted house. This haunted house is largely operated and built by volunteers and takes place in the basement of a non profit art gallery housed in a 100 year old soap factory. Through their dedication and enthusiasm, these volunteers have made this haunted house one of the most successful fundraisers of any non profit art gallery in North America. Because of their efforts the art gallery is able to continue operating during these precarious economic times despite drastic cuts in its funding.
